Summer 2010 Reading Lists

 
Eighth and ninth grade student are encouraged to read a minimum of TWO (2) books over the course of the summer. 
 
*Ninth grade students who are taking English honors must read Mythology by Edith Hamilton.  You must also read an additional book from the Honors book list within your grade level. (see link below)
 
The English department has created an online reading list to facilitate locating books that are of interest to our students.
 

Principal's Message

Dear Fieldstone Families,
 
Welcome to the 2010-11 school year! Teachers have already reported to work and they are preparing the classrooms for the arrival of your children. Various district staff and school members have been working hard during the summer in order to ensure that the school year starts smoothly.
 
Summer school was very positive, and the 9th grade class moved to the NRHS with great prospects for success. Our incoming 8th grade class visited us on August 31, and they were able to greet their friends, listen to a presentation, and walk their schedules. The opening of the school year on September 7 should be smooth, and all students are expected to have a full day of instruction.
 
We hope most parents are able to join us on September 14 for meet the teacher night. We believe that a positive school-family connection is crucial for students’ success.
